Steer Weathervane. Jonathan Howard and Co., West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, c. 1860

Categories: ,

Molded copper and cast zinc, with original gilded surface. Length 28 inches

The weathervanes manufactured by the Jonathan Howard Company are regarded as the most aesthetically pleasing, desirable, and stylized weathervanes produced, rivaled only by those of the A. L. Jewell Company of Waltham, Massachusetts. This outstanding example retains it fabulous original gilded surface and is in excellent condition. Howard weathervanes of this quality and originality are becoming extremely uncommon.
